The fall of rome is tied to the beginning of dark ages/medieval. Period/middle ages, which is the roughly a 1000-year period between the fall and renaissance. Trade went down hill (afraid of going to trade due to being raided by barbarians) The eastern half of rome was being ruled by caesar in the east capital, constantinople. Rest of the world making new technology and growing a lot. China, india, civilizations grew and spread: dark ages/medieval period/middle ages. During this period, barbarian goths, vandals, and huns swept down on europe from the north and east. Destroyed many ine buildings & works of art that existed during roman. Knowledge survived only in monasteries, with very few schools dark ages. The lost knowledge of the ancient greeks and romans was found again.
