It wasn"t until the 1980s when gay men were identified with the disease. Early 1980s 4 h"s: haitian immigrants, homosexuals, heroin addicts, and hemophiliacs. It wasn"t until 1984 that they identified the virus. In 1985, they developed a test to check for the virus. Mid to late 1980s that aids/hiv activists/awareness began (acta) In 1995-96 when inhibitors came out in the market. This allowed for reductions in morbidity and mortalities associated with hiv. An individual with a higher viral load is more infectious in general than those with a lower viral load. The viral load is generally dramatically decreased from treatment on haart. Not all people on haart respond to the treatment. That is, their viral load does not decrease and therefore they would not necessarily be less infectious than someone not on haart. The question then is not is the person on haart? . What is the measured viral load of the individual? .
