Low base rates for violence, it does not happen often. Violence is very consequential, don"t need many violence acts to affect a wide range of people. Globally, most violence is occurring in world regions characterized by unstable leadership, detachment from international trade, poverty, lack of freedom, and retrograde technology, disconnected from the unifying rule sets of globalization. The functioning core has little violence to worry it, security derives from advancement of scientific knowledge, technology, and economic interdependence. Disconnectedness defines danger, but it breeds complacency among those who feel connected. Humans are very adaptable organisms, we grow accustomed to lots of awful things. Steady exposure to the horrors of violence through both cinematic portrayals and the news media diminishes our response to violence. However, some are traumatized by media exposure.
