After the civil war, 78 percent of prisoners were black. Used convict leasing, put them in jail when they couldn"t have them as slaves anymore for cheap labor. Seemed to be an endless supply of convicts. We tend to conflate poverty with minority status. These capitalist titans held great industrial monopolies and unprecedented wealth. One can break down the value of a human life based on the gender and color of the skin by the data revealed.
