Image: moving image, medium-the substance in and through which meaning is realized and through which meaning becomes available to others. Sign(anything that conveys meaning)= signi er(words, images, shapes, sounds)/signi ed(mental concept that comes to mind) High angle: minimizes the subjects and makes them look less powerful, gives overview of the land, gives more information. Eye-level angle: normal view can create a sense of intimacy. Low angle: gives the subject more power, dialects. A relationship of con ict that results in a new form. Taken from marx"s explanation of the dialectic as the process by which social and political changes occur: creating meaning, metaphors- a thing regarded as representative or symbolic of something else, especially something abstract. Intertextuality- the way in which texts(including visual texts) gain meaning through their referencing of other texts: digital storytelling.
