Biomedical physicians were able to describe diseases but unable to cure: changes in 1940s (drug revolution): discovery of antibiotics, drugs, etc. Ability to cure disease (1940s on: antibiotics, vaccines, psychotropic drugs. Penicillin was discovered by accident by alexander fleming. Noticed a mold had grown: wherever the mold was, the bacteria was killed. Helps heal so many illnesses that killed people at the times.
