European powers (during the colonial era) that owned land in the americas. The us, to a certain extent, cannot live without chinese investment, and the chinese buying up us bonds. Decisions that have good as well as adverse consequences. At the high level, we talk about national security. At the low level, we talk about privacy, personal information. The us adapts faster than any other country to new technologies. Focus on technology, and how it has changed society. Earlier, we talked about the revolutionary period from the 1770s to 1823, with the monroe. It was the first colony to declare independence. The us did not take part in colonialism until the late 19th century, through the spanish- The us had a second war of independence the war of 1812. Even more important was the louisiana purchase of 1803.
