Blindfolded & using left hand to pick item from box -> will pick out key. Right hand picks up ring from box. Cannot tell you what is in their left hand (have to guess) Only left hemisphere of brain contains speech processing. Right can understand but cannot create speech. Right hemisphere experiences the left side of the body. Both hemispheres able to receive information but only left hemisphere is able to verbally report. When corpus callosum right & left hemispheres cannot communicate. Not enough time for muscles in eyes to move & take in both words. Critical that words were only up there for 10th of a second. Short time period doesn"t allow patient to cheat . Explains why they do fine in everyday life -> can move eyes around as much as they want. Difference between what eyes see & the hemispheres. Involved looking at two words (of a phrase)
