PSY BEH 11A Lecture Notes - Lecture 8: Behaviorism, Pineal Gland, Francis Crick
Document Summary
Looking at basic sensory experiences & relationship with consciousness. Clear that body & brain are physical objects. Just like any other physical object in the universe. We are all moving as earth rotates & we move in our own sense. Love (experience of whole range of human emotion) There is a proposition that it will rain tomorrow. Important to who we are as human beings. Fear (e. g. that it will rain tomorrow) We use these all the time to interpret & predict people"s behavior. Trying to figure out what are the attitudes, beliefs, propositions, desires, etc. For all we know we may be the only species with propositional attitudes. Want to explain why people do what they do. Make different assumptions based off of behavior of others. We clearly can be described as physical objects. Have equally important aspects of our existence that are not physical things. Light hits the green donut & bounces off.
