Sexual assault & rape: understanding the dynamics outline. 1 in 3 american women experience sexual assault within her lifetime. 1 in 33 men experience sexual assault within his lifetime. 1 in 4 college women experience attempted or completed rape. 1 in 3 children have been sexually abused. Rape is an act of violence used as a form of control. Rape is the #1 most underreported violent crime in america. For years i believed it was my fault for being too drunk. I never called it rape" until much more recently, even though i repeatedly told him no". In 1 in 3 sexual assaults, the perpetrator was intoxicated. On average, at least 50% of college students" sexual assaults are associated with alcohol. Belief that women who get raped are stupid . Minimalization of victimizations ( that wasn"t rape, that was drunken sex ) I encourage you to talk to someone about this.
