Information in ltm is organized in schemas: a schema is a mental representation or model of an object, event, or concept. It consists of a network of associated information. Individual pieces of information in a schema are called nodes . Ex: restaurant: have understanding of waiters, understanding that there"s food, there paying. Association between president obama and the white house: organized hierarchy. General info and then more and more specific details. Restaurant = fast food joints and fine restaurant: both have food, chars, seta, legs, wood. But fast food will be associated with ordering at the counter, plastic silverware. 1 the time i got sick at subway.
