Risk for cancer also increases with age. Prevention: most cost-effective method to reduce economic burdens. Economic cost association with the loss of productivity. Tax dollars fund significant amounts for cancer research. Personal: must adjust aspiration, lifestyle, and employment, emotional, physical stress, depression, and grieving. Family: does not only affect the patient, but those around the patient, financial burden, helplessness, emotional stress.
