It"s a major contributor to success in school: the costs of health care affect financial status. Connected in 3 ways: the health and education of parents affects children. Ex: mother sick with aids: malnutrition and disease affects school performance. Ex: reduces attendance (from school) and concentration (in school: education enables people to prevent and manage illness. Ex: an educated mother is most likely to immunize her child. Healthy workers are more productive than unhealthy ones. Good health results in: fewer days missed from work, more years in the workforce money. Cost of illness to individuals/families can be high. This can be due to: cost of transportation, cost of treatments, cost to individuals living with the disability. As a result: many lose or dispose of their assets poverty, people borrow money, many go bankrupt.
