Need to know ordinal and cardinal for spsf. Need to have a meaningful 0 as in there"s nothing for 0. Ex: 0 ft to the destination meaning you"re already there. Can"t say that it"s hot as twice as wisconsin because it doesn"t make any sense. The distance between 1 and 3 is 2, but the location of 2 doesn"t make any sense. 2 is supposed to be in the middle of 1 and 3. Therefore we can"t use mathematic for this. This is a categories of a variables. Measure as in tall, average or tall. If measure as in inches, then it will be ratio. Think of an observation for the paper. Can be realistic, unrealistic, fiction, or even imagination. Come up with 3 models that explain the observation. Need to keep in mind of those 3 rules on page 44-46. Don"t be too specific for the model. Should be general so that you can expand the model more.
