Makes no sense that what i would want for myself i should deny for other people: locke is pro-reason reason and compassion towards others coexists and exists at the start. Rousseau: p. 42, human morality, natural morality. Doesn"t need instruction to learn it: rousseau is against reason, before reason is pain. How can reason be there and evils in the world exist: once man is in a society, natural man changes.
