Document Summary

Phenoemenon-movement form high death and birth rates to low death and birth rates. As world becomes more industrialized and urbanized life expectancy will go up. Spikes in death rate because of epidemics and diseases, wars were not an issue until the world wars because they would not cause a great change in the world population. Death rates drops because babies and young children are starting to live beyond childhood. Stage two lasted a very long time in some countries. If there was not transition the difference between 1950 and 2000 would not be very different, but there would be fewer older people and distribution would be different. Family relations would be more with siblings rather than grandparents. Lifestyle would be very different, you just to spend most of adult life raising a family not you don"t spend as much. Demographic transition-theory: macro level changes in industrialization and education and as they change individual behavior would also change.
