Prior to the 1750"s all nations were able to coexist. The french and indian war is the key event that changes the relationship. In the british system, they did believe in self-govern and self-rights but it didn"t apply equally to everybody. India was more important than the 13 colonies at that time. One of the mini wars within the global war. Acquisition of colonies ( who"s gonna have more colonies) The british had a subservient attitude toward the colonists: created suspicion and resentment, some start to feel less accepted. England contracted a huge debt and needed more nances to manage empire (taxes: england themselves payed for the war (put taxes on their own people) Tensions escalated between native americans vs. british and colonists.
