Document Summary

Our goals for learning: describing motions from everyday life. How is your mass different from your weight. Velocity : speed and direction, the value, and the direction. Acceleration: any change in velocity; units of speed time/time(m/s^2) and also has a value and direction. All falling objects accelerate at the same rate (not counting friction of air resistance) On earth g=10 m/s^2:speed increases 10 m/s with each second of falling. Galileo showed us the same for all falling objects. A net force changes momentum, which generally means an acceleration (change in velocity). Angular momentum= the rotational momentum of a spinning or orbiting object l=rmv. Mass- the amount of mass in an object. Weight- the office that acts on an object. Weightlessness is due to a constant state of free fall. Newton"s law of motion impact on our lives. He realized the same physical laws that operate on earth also operate in the heavens = one universe.
