Took off without clearance from tower and another plane was on the runway- collided. Two 747 airplanes and best and brightest of pilots. Wanted to land an airplane at a smaller commercial airport (los rodeos) due to the bomb that went off. Bomb went off because the islands were spanish territory so it was their fight for independence. Airport was able to hold/land a 747 but was not meant to hold many planes and there was only 2 people working runway tower. Gando airport reopened and all planes can now relocate to los rodeos airport. Controllers at los rodeos racing against worsening weather conditions, Two children ran off so parents went to find them. Klm stuck behind pan am flight that was refueling, 12 feet short to try and go around it. Klm went first goes first, pan am was supposed to follow behind it and but then klm turned around.
