Happens during intrauterine life development of esophagus that the muscle has abnormal tonicity(cid:523) lower eso. Because of that you get gastric reflux which contains acid(hcl) Symptoms: burning sensation in heart, retro sternal pain, pain begins right after eating. Associated with vomiting, nausea, and irritation of mucous cell, layered by acid. Fails to relax): neuromotor disorder of the lower esophageal sphincter (les). Dilated proximal esophagus and aperistalsis, increased les pressure. The plexus are missing around the lower esophegal sphincter. After eating food, it leads to accumulation of food content in upper part of lower eso. Sphincter, which causes pressure and pain in retro sternal area. During intrauterine life, some stem cells from the myentric plexus of aurback migrate from cns to the wall of gi tract.
