Based on video games tomb raider. Based on comic book spiderman, batman. Films have more money spent and made nowadays. Have to put out films that are shallow to attract as many people as possible, lcd lowest common denominator. Back in the day studio didn"t want actors to have too much power. 20-million-dollar club- get this upfront when big actors do a movie.
