The truth or falsity of abortion claims depend on what kind of creature a fetus is: creature = wrong to kill abortion = impermissible, creature = okay to kill abortion = permissible. The traditional/typical arguments are too narrow or too broad goldilocks problem: traditional/typical pro-life arguments & counterarguments (too broad, protects too much) Life is present at the moment of conception. Functional definition: what one can do = grow, feed. But a seed can do these things too. Doesn"t prove that if something is alive it is okay to kill since we eat seeds all of the time. Fetuses do not look like babies that early on (not for a couple of months at least) Dolls and marzipan babies also look like babies. Fetuses possess a characteristic (dna) that is necessary/sufficient for personhood (snowflake argument) Scratch yourself, dry skin cells kills lots of cells which is morally impermissible under this argument.
