PHILOS 2 Lecture 1: Philosphy2Notes
Document Summary
The nature of god: the properties of god. Perfect ( most important of these because it"s the reason for all the other attributes) Intangible ( possibly no location in space) Impassible ( no one can change him) The problem of foreknowledge/ the puzzle of prescience. God can cause things to happen in time. God is the cause of effects that happen in time, yet god is outside of time. The cause (god) causing the effect takes place at a time, then the cause (god) must be there at that time. Causation, as we understand, is an event and events take place in time. Both the cause and effect are part of the event. Informally valid absent of fallacies and truth of premises followed by truth of conclusion. More reasonable or plausible than its denials or at least is known to be. Looking back on davis" theory on what makes an argument successful.
