Fiber is not perfectly digestible.
Starch 100%, fiber 20-50% FDA rules, so fiber is 1g gives you 4 calories.
● Natural sugar = meh
○ Sugar found in food/fruit
○ unaltered
● Added sugar = very bad
○ Not natural
○ packaged/adding more sugar
○ Orange juice
○ Added fructose rather than glucose - it’s sweeter so less product needed
to get same sweetness
● Refined sugar = horrible
○ Changing the sugar, the natural composition of the sugar and adding it
into it to make the food extremely sweet
○ Candy / Ice cream

● Has lots of polysaccharides (starch-100% many glucose)
● Alter chemically and turn some starch→ fructose + glucose
○ Sweeter and add to food
○ High fructose corn syrup

○ Make liver work harder than normal → unaware person and were consuming this
○ Liver can only output limited amt of glucose → so with the extra, converts it to fat
and that fat is stored into the adipose tissue → stuck in blood vessel
