Two nominees: one who is going to role play merrick garland, switch to be a republican. Stare decisis, substitive due process, what we have done in class. Conservative latina nominee : profile out tomorrow. Each senator will have 5 min to ask a question and have an answer. Purpose of senators questioning: trying to get information that might persuade them on how to vote. People might be more or less already decided. Floor statements, because people are so dedicated to someone that they will say something. In framing your question, look at who these people are where they come from etc. People use questioning to flat out cause people to lose or win. Some people want to draw people"s attention to a certain issue. Sometimes you"ll see a senator lecture the nominee and make a particular issue that is important to them, important to the nominee. Aba is the next speaker after the candidate speaks.
