Ptsd: repeated intrusive recall of those memories, nightmares and other re-experiencing, social withdrawal or phobic avoidance, jumpy anxiety or hypervigilance, insomnia/sleep problems. Elevated plus maze: study the time anxious mice and normal mice stay on the open and close arm. Brain regions involved in anxiety: amygdala: emotion, septum: reward experience, hippocampus: memory, prefrontal cortex: calm down.
