With multiple battles having taken place and the declaration of independence signed, the. Revolutionary war was about to begin full force. They knew the land, the swamps, the forests, etc. Knowing the physical geography of the battles would be an advantage. Also, the americans were close to their supplies and had more troops to get support from. While 1/3 of the colonists were against the war, 1/3 were active supporters, and the other 1/3 did not care. Americans had access to more troops that did not have to be shipped over an ocean. During the war, several countries will join the american side, most notably france and spain. Without the money, supplies, and navy of the french, america would not have won the war. They were the best-trained army in the world. The british soldiers were professionals who knew how to fight and would not get scared and run away.
