Pig rolling around in mud to cool off. Not having to expend energy to increase or decrease its body temperature. We would increase body temperature by exercising, shivering, drinking something warm. Animals, especially ectotherms, would lay in the sun, move around, they can move their location, stick together in a group (penguins do this) Zone of thermal comfort is doing something very minimal to increase or decrease body temperature, like putting on a shirt, but it does not induce any big difference. The range of temperatures at which no extra energy is required. Body can no longer maintain internal body temperature. Changing blood flow (sending blood away from the extremities to the core) Changing blood flow (sending blood to the extremities) The breeds of cattle that are from warmer environments. Flappy skin, floppy ears, greater surface area. The breeds of cattle that are from more northern climates.
