Ethnology: compares ethnographies based on different ethnographies. Conrad does a microproject in a small el salvador city. Found that people used different words to describe the race of three sisters of different colors. Participant observation: a small group of people and interact with them. Pros of po: rapport, trust, and better connection, detailed rather than inferred, qualitative data. Cons of po: change cultural phenomena, long time= more $, health?, uncooperative people, bias----ethnocentrism(own culture is superior) Culture shock: having a difficult time interacting(depression, uncomfortable)
