Document Summary

Week 7 - lecture 12 - other functions and a program. We put in a number then it will convert to its binary representation. It will fill the string to be a certain number of characters. It convert characters (including numbers) in a string to numeric representations. It is used when communicate to other computers. The number characters also have correlated numeric representations. It gives you the character representation of the number. Also: we can only do one at a time. We put strings in it and it will return each of the elements inside a list. Now we put all functions together to write a program (this is useful for the homework). We start from storing a value in c; convert c to numeric representation and store it in o. We want to convert o to a binary representation, therefore use bin function here. We want to it be 8 characters, thus use the zfill function.
