International trade improves the welfare of chinese smartphone producers as well as. International trade is more important for the us than it used to be and is more important for some countries than other: hyper globalization, the phenomenon of extremely high levels of international trade. Comparative advantage and gains from trade: since each country has a different opportunity cost, it makes sense to specialize and trade. The gains from international trade: the us concentrates on producing trucks, and china concentrates on producing phones, total world production of both goods rises. It is possible for both countries to consume more of both goods. Just because the us can produce more of both goods doesn"t mean we"re better off without trade: pay attentions to opportunity costs. It its cheaper for china to produce phones than it is for the us, the us will want to import phones from china.
