Pcb leaked into the hudson river from a plant outside of nyc. Production technology is more intensively managed than maintenance technology. Electric generation plants add twice c02 than motor vehicles. Nuclear plants add no greenhouse gases except small amounts of water vapor. Worker safety record is excellent for nuclear power plants. No alternative could replace the power generated by nuclear plants without significant increases in air pollution and global warming . Haddam ct has an old radioactive plant. They are storing spent fuel on site. Supposed to be transferred to the care of fed govt. Fed govt doesn"t know what to do with it. No one wants to deal with repercussion. Solution to global warming, but not waste.
