Mutuality- how we think about things (we, us) Humans are social creatures- we need regular social contact with those to whom our feels connected . Most children live in a single parent home at some point. Cohabitation before marriage makes people more (not less) likely to divorce. Cohabiters are less committed more conflict, more infidelity. Higher risk of break-up than marriage, especially over time. Longer cohabitation less likely to marry and more accepting of divorce, less positive views of marriage. Advances in technology- birth control, in vitro fertilization, cell phones, computers. High: more men than women- more traditional values, fidelity. Low: more women than men-more promiscuous, liberal values. Much of interactions/relationships are far more public, thanks to cell phones, camera phones, facebook, blogs, etc. More impersonal/detached endings to relationships (is this good or bad?) Secure ( secure)- trusts mom; easily calmed; grows up to like relationships.
