Cluster c: anxious-fearful personality disorders: extremely concerned about being criticized or abandoned by others and thus have dysfunctional relationships, not a lot of research but, avoidant personality disorder. Avoids occupational activities that involve significant interpersonal contact* Different from schizoid: want to be around other people, but are too anxious. Unwilling to get involved with people unless certain of being liked. Only get involved in clubs, etc. if they know people are going to like them. Preoccupied with being criticized or rejected in social situations. Inhibited in new interpersonal situations because of feelings of inadequacy* Views self as socially inept, personally unappealing, or inferior* Don"t have the evidence to back up that they are inferior or inadequate! Similar to narcissistic, who don"t have proof that they are amazing and better than everyone else. Unusually reluctant to take personal risks or engage in any new activities because they may prove embarrassing.
