The war on scientific literacy: religiosity vs. evolution in the deep south. Dr. amanda glaze studies the evolution conflict in the south. She realized that the scientifically approved theory of evolution is widely not accepted and even taboo. People think that evolution means we come from monkey. The problem comes from a battle between religiosity and science (you don"t have to just choose one!!) Dr. miller surveyed 25-28 research scientists (biology, psychology, psychobiology, anthropology) Most were atheist and agnostic, only 3 were religious or slightly religious. Humans can be altruistic toward dogs by letting them eat some of their food. Dogs can help other dogs through prosocial behavior pulls dog by leash to get out of car. Dogs preferentially feed familiar, but not unfamiliar, dogs. Donor dog can feed a receiver dog by pulling a string. Motivation session: donor dog learns to pull string without receiver dog and can get the treat himself.
