Search for gold: arrival of europeans; natives made into slaves to find gold for them. Excavator digs up soil in bedrock to find gold; starts hosing the area. Means of production: land, technologies, things needed to produce; people own the land. Women always cook- live in camp; prohibited to have much contact w/her. U(cid:374)(cid:271)ala(cid:374)(cid:272)ed e(cid:454)(cid:272)ha(cid:374)ge: (cid:271)et(cid:449)ee(cid:374) stra(cid:374)gers that"s (cid:272)o(cid:374)du(cid:272)ted for material advantage. Emerged in extractive industries on margins of capitalist world system. Instead of resistance solidarity, excessive consumption may perpetuate further servitude & serve interests of capital.
