Initially proven or tied to western biomedical authority. Changes in diet, treatment, etc are related. Anthropologists not interested in dis/proving existence of god; just looking at how people make religious traditions come alive in everyday lives. Sacred, profane, religion, ritual, magic, liminity, causality. Rituals: ceremonial act or repeated stylized gesture for specific occasions.
