Ghosts are a modern equivalent of the shades. What happens ater death: something minimal ghosts/shades, strict materialism nothing happens, two extremes: this world is more important vs. that world is more important. Plato: they can right away recognize and talk don"t need to drink from the blood. How can plato tell us about the aterlife: batle body lay there (er) but came back to life. Souls get judged one path goes up to the right and other goes down to the let (homer says rewards/punishments are the excepions) Up to the right: rewarded 10 imes over for all of the good things you did in life. Down to the let: punished ten imes over for the evil things you did in life. Each journey takes 1000 years (10 x 100 years) Souls interact with the fates, which help the souls choose by lot what life they will go to next.
