Document Summary

Main episodes: kolchis back to iolkos. Narraive realism we as readers are in the same situaion as the person inside the narraive (we don"t know what jason is thinking and neither does medea) Along the way, jason and medea meet lots of people who come out of the odyssey. They go to see circe (another stereotypical woman with witch powers: circe is medea"s aunt, from kolchis. They start talking in kolchian: circe puriies them but is furious because medea killed circe"s nephew. Appolonius does something diferent than homer: orpheus plays ugly music (instead of his usual beauiful music) to drown out the sirens. Emoional realism jason has doubts and uncertainies unlike most heroes. Even the happiest point in his story is underlined by doubt and uncertainty. When they land on the coast of africa, they ind themselves stranded in the desert and don"t know how to get out.
