Emotional brain areas activated by some versions of moral dilemmas but not others. Seeing a victim exhibit distress evokes a negative emotional response in ourselves. Trained clinicians interview individuals and score on 20 items, each ranging from 0-2. Evidence of differences in individuals with psychopathy in the responsiveness of certain brain areas to emotional material. Psychopaths and control participants shown pictures of neutral, threatening, and distress-inducing pictures. Rated pictures for pleasantness, and had skin conductance measures taken. The autism as a problem in understanding other minds.
