When confederates purposely guess incorrect length, participants chose incorrect as well. 75% of participants conformed on at least 1 trial (25% never conformed), Normative influence: they fear the social consequences of being thought of as deviant. Informational influence: they want to be correct in their judgements, so when others all agree on something, they go along on the assumption that these others are right. Compliance: the tendency to agree to someone"s request.
