Female external genitalia are not as prominent as those of men. Vulva refers to the entire external genital area in a woman. Mons is a pad of fatty tissue covered by skin and pubic hair, immediately in front of the pubic bone: extremely sensitive, serves as a cushion for the woman"s pubic area during sex. The only certain function of the clitoris is sexual pleasure, and its stimulation is the most reliable way for most women to experience orgasm. Both the shaft and glans are erectile (capable of getting larger and firmer during sexual arousal) Vasocongestion: the swelling of tissue caused by an influx of blood. Imperforate hymen: rare condition in which this structure completely closes the vaginal opening. Urethra: canal that conveys urine from the bladder, some women do ejaculate from it during sexual climax. Perineum: sensitive area between the vaginal opening and the anus.
