Document Summary

Dominant culture/mainstream culture/ imperial culture has a reality effect through mutually enforcing webs or systems of cultural meaning. What did she do to provoke him ? . If he got pulled over, he must have been doing something wrong. Crisis mode, stepped up war-making, blatant propaganda: scapegoating, profiling, and demonizing. Criminalization: the social process of making people, actions, or aspects of life illegal (usually requires public demonization)- criminal, and subject to punishment (by the state) A threat to our homes, children and families/ the future/ the nation! etc. This frame is pervasive now and being rapidly developed as being able to trump all others. It didn"t happen/doesn"t exist (holocaust, slavery, racism, sexism, etc. ) If it matters, no one is responsible. If someone is responsible, it"s the victim. Argue proportionate burden and collective (deep rooted) solution. Connect the dots of apparently unrelated or isolated events, data, policies, etc. (unrelated within dominant framing) Shows how these are related to larger patterns/systems.
