Injury (2/12) (peripheral neuropathy - a result of damage to your peripheral nerves, often causes weakness, numbness and pain, usually in your hands and feet) Cmt4 - recessive mutations: cmt1 - symptoms include muscle weakness, atrophy, and reduced sensation particularly in the feet, lower legs, hands, and forearms. Implicated in synaptic remodeling during development: the importance of schwann cells. Neural crest-derived cells that, in vertebrate animals, form myelin and facilitate the propagation of action potentials along peripheral axons. Winter 2019: also provide axons with energy (lactate, after injury, schwann cells dedifferentiate into repair cells, thereby facilitating axonal regeneration. Schwann cells repair after injury: uninjured nerve initial reaction to injury .
