Lungs -> relaxes muscle cells surrounding brionchioles, dilation of brionchioles, more oxygen to blood. Heart -> stimulates pacemaker to beat faster (everything moves faster through body so cells can get oxygen, glucose, etc. , faster. This triggers a cascade of events that involves multiple phosphorylations of various proteins. One outcome is that vesicles containing glucose transporters are moved to the cell surface. Hormone -> hormone receptor complex -> nucleus -> causes a change in gene expression, turn on the expression of a gene to make protein in response to testosterone -> mrna -> new protein.
