Describe how do they work: to determine localization of glut4 within a sample of cells, you perform immunostaining with antibody that recognizes glut4 protein. You discover that most of the glut4 is localized at the cell membrane. You suspect these mice may be pre-diabetic, so you perform simple blood tests to measure the levels of insulin and glucose. If your hypothesis is correct, the levels of insulin will be (circle one): high / low the levels of glucose will be (circle one): high / low. Part b) the results of the blood tests confirm your hypothesis, so you decide to perform additional experiments on these mice, which you call mouse 1 and mouse 2. For several days, you treat mouse 1 with a compound that inhibits phosphorylation of akt, while you treat mouse 2 with a compound that inhibits glut2 channels.
