This would be a four factor design, requiring a four-way anova. We often would like to observe changes in natural systems over time. Differences that emerge over long periods of time may be due to a huge number of variables that may be impossible to understand. We may also be unable to manipulate some variables of interest, this makes a controlled experiment difficult. Categorizing nature: collecting specimens and directly observing important features of nature.
