In england, black writing is really struggling still. Most black writing and literature is upper middle class. The working class community focuses on music, but literature is upper middle class because you need an education to write. The education system in britain is rigged. Race and class divide on the structural level and how it affects education. Literature: bridge to doc 3 and culture. Ted talk: the danger of a single story. The stories she read as a child were filled white blond and blue-eyed children. They talked about eating apples and the weather. Growing up in nigeria, none of these applied to her. Represents the beginning of telling stories about africa as a place of darkness and negativity.
