Document Summary

proving jesus" messiah-hood: the gospel according to matthew. Each gospel has its own point of view. Some jewish communities do not accept jesus because he is not the accomplished political figure that they expect of a messiah. Jesus movement has to defend a new form of messiah. Becomes more of a stumbling plot for jewish community because they do not believe in more than one divine figure. Gospels will overlap and use the same language in several places. Sometimes, there are things only between mark and matthew, or mark and luke. There are some places where matthew and luke agree, but it is not found in mark. Hard to see the difference between mark and luke in the literary sense because translators try to make them sound the same. Stylistically different and also different points of interest. Proving jesus" messiah-hood: the gospel according to mark. Mark does not give us the story of jesus" conception or birth or childhood.
