Vietnamese defeated remaining French troops and forced them to evacuate

Another war for independence
French were not willing to give up any concessions or for Algeria to move towards
independence
(1) French refusal to concede colonial interests
(a) Charles de Gaulle and the racism of the “Pied-noir”
Adamant about not giving up any concessions to Algerians
Pied-noir were notorious for extreme racism towards Arabs
